How do I repair my Wellington boots?

Hopefully you will not need to do this, but if ever you find a small split in your welly boots, do not despair, as there are ways to repair!

Try the following to repair your Wellington boots:

  1. Clean the boots thoroughly to remove any dirt, mud, or debris that may interfere with the repair process.
  2. Locate the area that needs to be repaired. If the boots have a hole, you can patch it with a piece of rubber or silicone patch material. If the boots have cracks, you can use silicone sealant to fill them in.
  3. Clean the repair area with a cloth dampened with Isopropyl alcohol to remove any oils or debris that might affect the adhesion of the patch or sealant.
  4. If using a rubber patch, apply a thin layer of contact cement to the patch and the repair area, and allow it to dry for about 10 minutes. Carefully press the patch onto the repair area, making sure there are no air bubbles or wrinkles. Hold the patch in place until the cement sets, which usually takes about an hour.
  5. If using silicone sealant, apply a small amount of sealant to the cracks, using a silicone caulk gun or a disposable plastic squeeze tube. Spread the sealant evenly with a spatula or your finger. Allow the sealant to cure for at least 24 hours.

Note: The above steps are general guidelines, and the specific repair process may vary depending on the type of damage and the material of the boots. It's always best to follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

Good luck and let's hope you never have to do this!

So comfy, so chic, so stylish......so waterproof!! All you could need in a neat ankle high boot. As wearable in central London as on the country hillsides.
